A little overview of this website,
and what Cooter Brown Emporium is all about.
1. "Cooter Brown" is mostly
about having fun and doing interesting things in a very different setting. To that end, we have built a large
metal building to hide our nostalgic world from the "real world". Inside that building, we have created
old free-standing buildings, including, a country store, a juke joint, an a pool room, all looking as though they were plucked
from the 1940's era of the American South. Our latest edition is a 1947 Ford "rolling store".
You are free to visit with us and look around, anytime we are open. Very few things are for sale, so we do
appreciate donations if you enjoy your visit.
2. We have a neat area for having small concerts and dances inside Cooters, in the open area surrounded by
the old buildings. Depending on the time of year, we have one or two live music performances each month at Cooter Brown.
We have dance bands come in to play rock and roll from the 50's and 60's, blues groups to play delta/piedmont/Chicago
blues, and bands who play pop favorites from the 70's thru the 90's. We also have an occasional Country
band come in to play old classics. We do invite singer songwriters to perform via the concert-in-your-home concept. Give
us your email address, and we will put you on our mailing list to remind you of upcoming live music events.
We charge $10 per person for advance reservations, and $15 per person at the door. Also, the Lazy Daze juke joint and
concert area is available to rent to private, responsible parties.
3. The newly added Cooter's Pool Room (one 1939 Brunswick table) is open almost every afternoon, some
on Saturday, mainly to serve as a "man cave" for locals, but we also welcome guests, visitors, and others to come
in for a serious game of billiards. We charge per game, or per hour, or you can rent the whole darn pool room for
your group. Just contact me and reserve. No women or children allowed here except for private users.
We are an alcohol friendly establishment (BYOB) so no children are allowed in the pool room or at the concerts, except for
private or reserved events.
4. Last, but not least, we are a Real Estate company (Keith Murphy d/b/a Mountain Investment Services).
Keith will be happy to assist buyers towards finding and purchasing a home, land or business sites. Generally, Keith
has no private listings, but as a member of the Northeast Georgia Board or Realtors he can show and sell you and of the thousands
of listings in the Fannin, Union or Towns area. As owner, he currently has his personal home for sale, as well as Toccoa
river lots in Fannin County. More information on both of these properties on other web pages.
Location. Cooters is located out in the country
(about 8 miles from downtown Blairsville). We are at 2081 Owltown rd, directly across the road from Highland Falls
rental cabins. Our location looks out over the Coosa Valley, and beyond to beautiful mountain ridges.
