Things I should tell you.  Cooters offers a little adventure in your pursuit of a good time and hopefully delivers a memorable experience.  It is a small step back in time when some of the comforts we now enjoy were not present.  In cooler weather we fire up the big double-barrel wood heater; in warmer weather we open the large doors upstairs, and turn on the fans.  The seating is a mixture of porch gliders, church pews and old wooden and leather covered theater seats.  The stage is draped in burlap cloth and part of the floor is actually gravel.  There is room to move back towards the rear, step outside under the wood shed, or retreat to a corner of the juke joint (The Laze Daze) to enjoy conversation without disrupting the performance.  Some folk bring snacks or a covered dish to share.  Everyone brings their beverage of choice BYOB (moderation practiced).  We have the cleanest commercial toilets (Ladies and Gents) in the County, and hand-washing facilities. Our parking capacity is about 12-15 cars without spilling onto the public highway, so, for that reason, we limit the size of our audience to 40 people.  RESERVATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED, because once we hit 40 people, the doors close.  This keeps our group small, intimate, and really gives everyone a front row seat to view and hear excellent music.  We encourage car pooling, that way we can accomodate more people. At most events, we require a donation of $10 per person to cover costs.   Generally, children should be left at home, and pets are not allowed.  Smoking is not allowed inside, but there are a number of exits, and  smoking is allowed in the attached,  covered woodshed. We have had a number or singer/songwriters from the Atlanta area, and Nashville area, come in and perform original songs.  We have enjoyed music from all genres, from classic Country featuring John Nix, a member of the Georgia Hall of Fame, to delta blues performed by some of the best bluesmen around.  Little Brother and Peadboy, Billy George, Hurricane Wilson, the Stella Bass Band, Greg Trooper, are just a few who have graced the stage at Cooters.  There has been a growing demand for party or dance bands, so in addition to concert-like presentations, we are promoting the more social atmosphere where bands are singing cover songs we all know and love, from do-wop, rock and roll, soul and r and b.  These are espescially favored for private parties, or celebration events.
